File Freedom

File Freedom is a fast, OS/2 PM file manager with an uncluttered, easy-to-use interface. It is written with tight, efficient programming that gives you a very fast file manager that is also small in size. Compare it's size and speed to your current file manager!

It is designed to be a quick and efficient utility that requires a minimum of setup yet does not skimp on features, including integrated Info-Zip support. In fact, you will find in File Freedom features not found in other file managers, such as the capability to look inside a zip file within a zip file and the ability to re-orient the toolbar from vertical to horizontal (and back again) at the push of a button. Two harmonious yet distinct methods of file management are also provided - Drag and Drop for those who prefer it, and an alternative method which is also fast and easy (there are also hot-keys for all operations for those who prefer to use the keyboard).

Support for Info-Zip's ZIP and UNZIP has been smoothly integrated. One button zipping, unzipping and testing of archives is now accompanied by a built-in Zip File Viewer for peering inside of zip files. It allows all other viewers (graphics viewers, wav players, etc.) configured in :hp2.File Freedom:ehp2. to be used inside a zip file. It also allows the user to look inside a zip file WITHIN a zip file, and again, all configured viewers can be used to examine files in this second layer. Single file extraction and deletion is also supported within the Zip Viewer.
