MidiLang is a shareware program for Windows (3.0,3.1,95 and NT) that adds live effects to any midi keyboard linked to a PC or on any standard Midi (.mid) file.

MidiLang has been created to:

• Allow effects such as echo, delay, loop in live (i.e. during your play) or as a post-processor on any Standard MIDI (.mid) file
• Calculate best chords for a given melody in live
• Create any type of Midi Mapping (i.e. controller manager)
• Be able to add automatically bass based on your play in live.
• Allow user defined splits ( not only those specified by the manufacturer of your keyboard) Save/load your play in .MID file
• Get an interactive link between the PC and your synthe: you can change any parameters, or any options directly from your midi keyboard. There is no more need to run from the PC keyb. to the Midi keyb.
• Allow anyone to create his own effect with a simple but powerful interpreter of Midi Programming Language (MPL) or of Extended midi Programming Language (XPL) ( a little bit like C )
• Allow users to create their own library of effects, easy to update and to share.

This new version got more than 40 ready to be used effects (autobass, time equalizer, arpegiator...)

There is no need to be a programmer to use MidiLang, you can use any mpl/xpl files. But XPL is a such an easy language to use that you should be able to define your own effects with a little practice.

For a real programmer, the MPL and XPL languages are simple to use. These languages are very fast ( actually it is compiled in memory during the load process ) so can do almost anything you may wish with your midi-keyboard.
