Binary Newsreader (BNR)

The Binary Newsreader (BNR) is designed for easy downloading and decoding single- and multipart binary files which are UUE- or BASE-64 (Mime format) encoded from Internet newsgroups.

Exactly! It's made for all these alt.binaries... newsgroups.

BNR is a true 32-bit application, designed for OS/2 Warp V3 and V4, which uses OS/2 features like multithreading, drag/drop, object oriented execution and can be configured in a user-friendly configuration notebook. BNR has the ability to connect multi-part-files - You do not have to attach downloaded UUE-files prior to the decoding process (the way you have to do in Netscape or NR/2) and BNR processes UUE- and BASE64 (Mime format) coded files. BNR has a filter feature (eg. get articles containing the words JPG or GIF), Mailto- and browser gateways, Find and select functions, a script language and much more...
