Alcahest PM is an OS/2 Presentation Manager user interface for Handmade Software's OS/2 version of Image Alchemy. Alcahest PM versions are available for Image Alchemy v1.8.1 and v1.9.1 releases for OS/2. Alcahest PM is compatible with both the Postscript and non-Postscript versions of Image Alchemy. NEGC Software's Alcahest PM is a 32-bit Presentation Manager application which provides a graphical user interface to the OS/2 version of Image Alchemy PS. Image Alchemy PS is perhaps the most powerful image conversion, processing, and compression solution available on any platform. However, true to its UNIX roots, Image Alchemy PS for OS/2 is a command line program. Alcahest PM provides a point and click interface to all the functionality of Image Alchemy PS and speeds the access to many of its features without having to leave the Workplace Shell. You'll never have to type a command again, and no more wasting time searching through that huge Image Alchemy manual to find that one little-used command.To use Alcahest PM, you need to have either the Image Alchemy 1.8.1 or Image Alchemy 1.9.1 for OS/2 executable files which are part of Handmade Software, Inc.'s Image Alchemy for OS/2 program suite. Alcahest PM version 1.1 is intended to function with version 1.8.1 and Alcahest PM v1.2 is to be used with the new Image Alchemy version 1.9.1.Registration is $20.00 for Alcahest version 1.1 and $24.95for Alcahest 1.2. Current Image Alchemy for OS/2 users please note: Alcahest PM version 1.1 is designed to work with version 1.8.1 of Image Alchemy for OS/2, and Alcahest PM 1.2 is designed for Image Alchemy 1.9.1. Because the new Image Alchemy version 1.9.1 is now multi-threaded and many new features and file formats have been added, only Alcahest PM 1.2 will function correctly with the new v1.9.1 release of Image Alchemy.
